Family Spanish Program

Guadalajara Language Center (GLC) offers this unique program to families with children, allowing both parents and children a rich Spanish-immersion experience in Mexico. Children take Spanish classes specifically designed for the needs of young learners, with an emphasis on oral communication and everyday vocabulary in lessons that are fun and engaging.

In addition, parents can elect to have their children attend a local elementary school for extra Spanish practice. Parents take four hours of Spanish a day, focusing on everyday conversation while acquiring the grammatical skills they need to communicate effectively.

GLC’s location is a safe, comfortable setting for learning Spanish as a family. Tlaquepaque is a lively, colorful city with a small-town feel. Families are free to choose the accommodation option that best suits their needs, including apartment and house rentals and homestays with local Mexican families. The school can arrange accommodations for families with four or more persons staying together.

Within a five-minute walk from the school, the pedestrian walkway along Calle de la Independencia (Independence Street), with its art galleries and street musicians, is a perfect place to spend time as a family, as is Jardín Hidalgo, the square at the heart of Tlaquepaque which frequently showcases mariachi performances.
